Well thanks for your service but your books are terrible. "Serious tone", "Frustrated tone", "Chuckling tone", "Scared tone", and on and on. It got to a point where I was laughing at the book instead of living it, just waiting for the next "Tone". And the dialogue was like something out of a comic book. Dude please, take some writing lessons.I went in the army at the end of '74 and have read a hundred books on Vietnam. Yours are so below par that I doubt I'll even finish this one before I hang it up and get something worth reading.

I compliment Mr. Trout's writing style. This Vietnam tour of duty has the material available to the author, but it reads easy as if he's present telling you the story personally. I recommend buying the entire series as a single read.
Just finished book 7. Mr Trout's books get better with each release. At times you feel like you are right beside him in the aircraft. I recommend them all and be sure to read them in order. Look forward to the remaining books in the series. I am a little down because I finished the first 7 so fast. May have to go back and read them again while I wait for #8. Thanks Mr. Trout.
I've read the entire series, and as a reader, I want to thank the author for this story. I realize that the radio communications are mostly necessary to fill out the books and are, in many books over-used, but the stories are so good that one must overlook that one little burden forced upon an author. I am certainly glad I read this series of books (1-8)!
Another great book by Mike Trout! Maybe because I was a former helicopter pilot ('68 & '69) in the same operational area that Mike's story unfolds, I can say I enjoyed this book as well as the previous 6 and maybe more! ..very realistic, nonstop action and very operationally accurate. This book will be enjoyed by anyone who enjoys an action filed adventure story. Most definitely 5 stars!
